The Lee Organization Appoints Julian Okafor Chief Security Officer

The Lee Organization, LLC today announced the appointment of Julian Okafor as Chief Security Officer, effective May 4, 2026. Okafor will lead a converged security program covering cybersecurity, physical security, and protective operations.

Okafor has spent his career in security leadership across both physical and information domains, and has long advocated for managing the two as a single program. The Organization's decision to structure security this way was a factor in the appointment.

"Security was a role I wanted to fill carefully, and Julian was worth the wait," said Whitmore. "He is calm, he is thorough, and he is willing to be the unpopular voice in the room when the risk justifies it. I trust his judgment completely."

"Threats don't organize themselves according to our org charts, so the defense shouldn't either," said Okafor. "I appreciate that The Organization chose to build security as one program from the start. That decision usually gets made after an incident. Here it was made before one."

Okafor will oversee information security, physical security, threat assessment, and protective operations.
